Great question minimus.
By far had to be going door to door, it never failed, as if school wasn't tough enough, it always seemed my brother (elder) always picked the territory closest to my school, week after week, I blew up at him a few times and the only answer I ever got was you should be proud of calling on them. What an AS-----E ! Let's face it, all kids are fragile at the 12-16 years this DOES NOT HELP!!
There was always one brother we hated when he closed with prayer, I am not kidding 30 Minute closing prayer, Just once I wanted to leave while he was still talking, hoping he would get the point.
Then of course in no particular order,
Meetings
Assemblies
Cleaning the Hall
leaving an hour earlier for the meeting because we had to pick up 5 people
Waiting after the meeting for Brother to finish chatting, bad enough the meeting was 90 minutes then another hour waiting for him to lock up the hall.
Book Study was the worst meeting by far, we'd be lucky if 10 people showed up, you know what that meant, more answers.
Listening to the stupidity coming from my parents after an assembly, I know alot of kids think their parents are not to bright, but trust me MINE were not, I often wondered (fantasized) that I wasn't their kid.
Luckily most of us on this forum got out, can you imagine if we were still in ????? hey that a good question to ask, new thread starting now ...........
in the thread "jehovahs witness university" there are many humorous posts about what would be taught at a jw university.
in the thread it was pointed out that the jws do have a recognized school, gilead.. what i have never seen is a list of the courses taught at gilead.
they must have some structured curriculum in order to grant a diploma.
No idea, I know it has to deal with missionary training for distant lands most people that get in all well over 30 or 40.
Which started the original thread , what do you do with the 18-20 year olds except pioneer until they are ready for bethel (most over 25 if not 30).
I can see the Watchtower making up some new class for the younger ones, to try and slow down so many leaving.
I would like to hear what the Gilead classes are as well.

When I was young I used to collect comic books, I got the lecture on how they are "SATANIC".
And I'm sure we all got the lecture on Music, and how some record/cd covers are "SATANIC", where do they come up with this stuff.
I even had an elder one time come up to a group of us after the meeting, and say "You know brothers I am a little disappointed, that I cannot hear any of you singing during the song." What is your comeback for this, we were all floored.
Then of course when I got a job as a bartender, WOW the flack I took for that, but by that time I was already on my way out.

i was at the dance club the other night when i lady was standing right close to me,,,,,,we looked at each other and immediatly knew we knew each other.
she was a sister from my circuit i have seen all my life.
i don't know here that well, but we usually seemed to be sitting in the same areas alot and had time to talk thru the years and she was always having some kind of problems.. well, she told me she is d/f and had her grown son there with her.
Well, LyinEyes, another story to the list of reasons never to go back.
I left the borg 15 years ago, and have been working as a Bar Manager ever since, oh the stories I could tell on JW's, one day when I have LOTS of time.
How many times I've seen this, they want to party it up, screw everyone they can, do the drug thing, and just go crazy and then go back, repent like nothing ever happened, then tell others (young ones) not to do this.
Like the previuos replys, it spells HYPOCRITE. What a bunch of losers.
At least it was not a total loss, you have reaffirmed to yourself that you're not going back. Sometimes once in a while we need a little reminder as to why we left.

Blondie you are right, but most people don't get into Gilead until 30 or 40.
I was thinking more of trapping the 18-19 year olds as they come out of high school.
With so many young ones falling away, you figure the Watchtower would come up with something ????????????

So I am always looking for good answers, comebacks, experiences etc.
And really if the JW's have the right to ruin my family life ( I am shunned by all), I have the right to fight back in anyway I can.

Will it ever happen, well never say never, they keep putting their foot in their mouth.
I think the next ten years will be very interesting, with the 1914 generation all but passing away.
So, most of us are OVER IT, but the JW'S started the fight, and some of us are fighting back.
They DO NOT have the right to RUIN more lives, especially the younger ones. And a lot of people are in a situation where they do not know how to get out, How can we not try to help them ????

I left the borg at 20, and like your father, found many friends and love on the outside more then in the borg. Friends I still have today (i'm 35).
my brother once said "You either fit in, or you don't, there's not much you can do about it." , "once you marked, you marked forever." How true this is.
As I have said many times on this forum, too many elders are on a high ego trip, they have never had a position in life, always had to answer to somebody, married the first person that payed attention to them, struggled through life, and then all of a sudden they are in charge and loving it. We all had squares (losers) in our congregation that we said to ourselves "what a loser" and sure enough they became elders. And think they are on top of the world, for the first time in their life people have to answer to them.
Just another reason to add to the long list of reasons to run don't walk out of the Watchtower.
My heart goes out to you.
